Why the "Toxic Black Mold" Framing Is Misleading
Certain mold species can produce mycotoxins under specific conditions, but the presence of mold in a home doesn't automatically mean dangerous toxin levels are in the air. The bigger, more consistently supported concern is the allergic and respiratory irritation described above — which is reason enough to address any mold problem promptly.
